Washed Up Texas

Plastic Beach Trash Humberto the Great Blue Heron Sculpture

Plastic Beach Trash Humberto the Great Blue Heron Sculpture

Humberto is part of the Washed Up Texas collection, created entirely from plastic beach trash collected off Texas beaches.  Each piece of plastic is cleaned, sorted by color and hand-screwed into place one at a time, using 8,000 stainless steel screws.  Humberto stands as a bold reminder of the 18 billion pounds of plastic that end up in our oceans every year.  And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

This sculpture is both art installation and a call to action.  It brings awareness to the damage ocean plastic causes to marine life and to the beauty that can be created from what washes up.

Let’s talk about your vision.
