Washed Up Texas

Plastic Beach Trash Miguel The Mahi Mahi Sculpture

Plastic Beach Trash Miguel The Mahi Mahi Sculpture

Miguel the Mahi Mahi burst out of the waves in a storm of blue, green and gold his body made entirely from plastic debris collected on the Texas Beaches.  Every bottle cap bucket handle and toothbrush that makes up his form was once trash polluting the ocean.  Now Miguel stands as a symbol of resilience and transformation, reminding us that the beauty of marine life can be preserved if we act before the tide of plastic overwhelms our seas.

Miguel is not only a sculpture, he is a conversation starter.  Wherever he is placed he draws people in to ask the hard question: how did all of this plastic end up here? He is part of the Washed Up Texas mission to turn waste into awareness and awareness into action.
